Nobody works hard like Donald Trump. Nobody.

Just too funny. Too funny not to share.

Poor Donald Trump.

The President of the United States has too much work to do and, alas, can not take his taxpayer-funded golfing vacation at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

(Sort of ironic that, given that 800,000 public servants won’t have much of a Christmas either, given the Trump-inspired partial shutdown of the US government).

But the work must be done, and let’s give credit where it is due … Donald Trump is doing it!

He said so.

In a tweet.

A tweet with a picture as proof.

A tweet that read; “Some of the many Bills that I am signing in the Oval Office … ” (you can read the rest below).

But, but, but …

Zoom in to the document he is allegedly signing. What do you see? Nothing. It’s blank.

Now zoom in to the pen in his hand. What do you see? A pen with the cap still on it.

Oh dear, Mr President. Oh dear.

Perhaps you better take that holiday after all.

The man is an incompetent ignorant fool, but dangerous because he is an incompetent ignorant fool.

Trump has no credibility whatsoever. He does work hard….screwing people! He runs the oval office like his failed businesses. He lies constantly and blames everything on the democrats. He isn’t even signing a document. The page is blank and the lid is still on the pen.In all my life nobody has made me angry quite like Trump.Terrible excuse of a spoiled little Brat and completely DUMB.

    Re;

    Trump has no credibility whatsoever

Actually he does where it counts – somewhere between 40 and 43% of the US electorate are ‘rusted on’ supporters. In a nation which is home of the Gerrymander – where the President is elected via an Electoral College and not directly – where (generally speaking) it’s difficult to vote with disenfranchisement being so easy (and regular) – where voting is optional and on Tuesday – with long queues – etc. 40% can be more than enough because his supporters turn up to vote. Passion and all that.

Unbelievably (for me), respected commentators predict another 6 years for a Trump Presidency.

Trump’s annus horibilis he has had to sign a few bills, I’d like to see him keep up with me in my prime lol! These spoilt rotten people seem to be multiplying and not only in the United States of North America (USNA). My generation has overcompensated for our lack of ‘stuff’ and have spoiled our children far too much, making it virtually impossible for them to cope with life in the 21st century.

Trump is now insisting that the American people front up with Five Billion dollars for his wall or he will shut the government down.

This is the same man who initially told the American people that the Mexicans would pay for his wall and when pressed he said it would be achieved by imposing tariffs on goods entering the US from Mexico. Then it was pointed out to him that this would impact the American consumer so he just dropped all pretences and blamed the democrats for not allocating the funding : this at a time when the Congress [the House of Representatives and the Senate] is numerically dominated by Republicans – but that will change in the New Year.

As Australia ponders moving to a Republic and the powers that we allocate to a president we would do well to observe what has happened in the US with the rise of an incompetent but constitutionally powerful emperor.

A few days ago, Trump told us he was pulling troops out of Syria because ISIS had been defeated. Yesterday he was tweeting that Syria was an enemy so why should they go on fighting ISIS for them.
Leaving aside the desirability of an American retreat from just about any country, any sane, logical person would think that those two things are contradictory, but Trump does similar things on such a regular basis that one wonders if he isn’t in the early stages of dementia, as opposed being in the later stages of someone demented.
Caligula made his horse a senator, but that seems relatively normal by Trump’s standards.

  9. Matters Not

    The departures are accelerating.

A top US official in the fight against the Islamic State group has quit over President Trump’s decision to pull troops from Syria, reports say.

Brett McGurk, the US special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat IS, brought his departure forward from February … Before Mr Trump’s announcement he had insisted that the US would continue working against IS in Syria.

It follows the resignation of Defence Secretary Jim Mattis on Thursday

Trump doesn’t need anyone; he sacks some for disagreeing with him, others leave….

Finally there’s just him, he’s left to do the work, almost alone…

Terence MillsDecember 23, 2018 at 7:51 am is it not how tories worldwide operate? Blame shifting and when all else fails blame the Opposition, I certainly see comparisons with the current extremist Australian PM.

  12. Matters Not

    Bernie Sanders reveals all.

Democrats and Republicans combine – but to no avail. It’s Ann Coulter who’s running the administration. She reckons Trump’s gutless. So Trump caved. After ‘not following’ her on Twitter. Hilarious!

  13. Henry Rodrigues

The reason for Trump is very easy to grasp, the 38% American deplorables who voted for him, Fox News, rabid right wing commentators and the gutless Republicans in congress and the senate who are terrified of the 38% deplorables. Now with Muelller about to release his report, Trump is desperately trying to shift the nation’s attention and maybe even by starting a new war. Rossleigh contemplates that he might be nearing dementia or indeed already demented. Maybe, but he definitely a criminal trying his best and worst, to avoid the ultimate humiliation of impeachment and being thrown out of the White House. For a narcissist like Trump, that is worse than suicide. Even his latest liar for hire, Rudi Guiliani now admits he lied about Trumps business interests in Russia.

  14. Roswell

I saw somewhere (don’t ask me where) that a bright person has come up with a great slogan for whoever runs for the Democrats in the 2020 election:

    “Make America Great Again”.

    Very clever.

They’ll have their work cut out for them though.

  15. Matters Not

Come January, the Democrats will have the numbers to ‘impeach’ (simple majority in the lower house) but that would be counterproductive. To ‘convict’ requires a two-thirds majority in the Senate (67 out of the 100) and in a Senate dominated by the Republicans that isn’t going to happen.

Clinton was impeached – but not convicted. Nixon saw the writing on the wall and resigned but I can’t see Trump following suit at this stage because he still has a solid base who would be ‘energised’ if impeachment was attempted. The real hope is Mueller – but that mightn’t be a magic bullet either.

As for the final report, it remains unclear when exactly the Special Counsel may finalise its findings — as well as whether or not the public will have the opportunity to read about those discoveries.

On Sunday, Mr Dershowitz said he did not believe Mr Trump could face charges over obstruction of justice, saying he could only face those punishments if “he does what [former President Richard] Nixon did, destroy evidence, tamper with witnesses, pay hush money.”

“You can’t tamper with witnesses by issuing public tweets,” he said.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/robert-mueller-russia-probe-report-trump-ally-lawyer-alan-dershowitz-impact-response-a8653251.html

Note that the public might never get to read the report.

    Here’s a slogan – America: Let’s grate no more!

  16. Roswell

I’ve been thinking that for two years. Not another false hope, please.

  17. Michael Taylor

Roswell, with all that Trump gets away with, I’m beginning to think that false hopes are all we have. However, this article has more than just a glimmer of hope. It goes beyond wishful thinking.

  18. Matters Not

MT, the linked article by Robert Reich – a Democrat of long-standing – is insightful, but there’s still some speculative bits. (There has to be.)

Note that the legal authorities are pursuing Trump’s associates through both the Federal AND State courts. While a President can pardon convictions at the Federal level he/she can’t overturn convictions at the State level. Whether he can pardon himself is still an unknown. But he has the Court on side.

As for the ascendency of Pence – be careful what you wish for. A religious nutter of the first water.

  19. Michael Taylor

MN, agree, Pence is a real worry, but I can’t see him surviving in 2020.

He will always have the Trump ‘tag’ to soil his name, as was the case with McCain, who never lived down the Palin ‘tag’.

  20. Matters Not

MT, I wasn’t thinking of Pence in 2020 but in the more immediate if Muller is successful in putting Trump under the political bus.

Nevertheless, I again say that much of Trump’s base is fanatical – it’s become a religious crusade. Impeachment might be easy but conviction – most unlikely There’s lots of Democrats (in normal times) who are now Trumpians. Unbelievable for me – but thems the facts.

  21. Terence Mills

It’s interesting that finally the only way that Al Capone could be brought to justice was on tax evasion and as you know, despite pledges to reveal his tax returns prior the election Trump has never followed through.

Then we have the forced winding up of the Trump Foundation by the courts in New York. This tax exempt charitable foundation was being used by the Trump family as a piggy-bank.

    The noose is tightening !

  22. Alex

The funniest thing in this post is the image of the technically illiterate people of this blog using a magnifying glass on their monitor to try to read the bill 😂

  23. Michael Taylor

Alex, didn’t you know that you can turn your mouse pointer into a magnifying glass, or failing that, use your mouse pointer to zoom in?

Just to please the grammar nazis, I’ll ammend to post to say “zoom in”. 🙄

    Michael,

“ill” You did that on purpose didn’t you? You could have chosen “unwell, sick, not well, not very well, ailing, poorly, sickly, peaky, afflicted, indisposed, infirm, liverish, out of sorts, not oneself, not in good shape, not up to par, below par, under par, bad, in a bad way, bedridden, invalided, on the sick list, valetudinarian, queasy, nauseous, nauseated, weak, feeble, frail, diseased, infected” or any other words that mean the same thing.

    Wow, “valetudinarian”.

What’s the bet that the Democrats buckle and give The Dunce his $5 billion to keep the country going? If they do, yet again, then all they have done is show The Hair of Horror that they can be trampled on because of their, in his…snort…mind, weakness.

Oh yes, Fahrenheit 11/9 is well worth watching.

  30. Matters Not

Kronomex, Cenk at The Young Turks (TYT) has a $50 bet with Anna that the Democrats will cave. He – Yes.(Because they always have.) She – No (Because it would be too much of a back down.)

    Worth a look.

The Democrats will be under pressure to concede because many of the people negatively affected (immediately) are Union members. And yes even in the old USA, union membership still has enduring affiliations and effects.

Also worth a look is an interview with Ann Coulter (by a British reporter) and the pressure she puts on. It’s Ann Coulter who is driving Trump’s political bus at the moment.
