From kayelee1: UPDATE from the Climate Council: “In just 13 hours we’ve had over 5,000 people become founding members of the Climate Council. Together they’ve chipped in a massive $160,000.

The Climate Commission ran on a $1.6 million annual budget. We think we can do things a bit cheaper, we’re trying to raise $500,000 by the end of the week.

This money will help us to hire researchers, put together reports and get information out to the public as soon as possible. Report #1 will be a summary of the new IPCC report at the end of the week.”

Ok, if you’ve read the newspaper reports, this is just a link in case you’re interested. The link has been down at various times during the day because of the volume of traffic. If it doesn’t work, try again later.

If you haven’t read the reports on the establishment of the Climate Commission.
