Hypocrisy and Censorship from the Right

Right-wing regimes have a history of censorship and obfuscating the truth. From Mussolini to Hitler to Pinochet, one of the first actions of Fascists is to totally control the media. All dissenting progressive views are silenced. The media becomes merely a propaganda and disinformation unit to brainwash and divide the populace.
It is rather ironic that people of a right-wing bent repeatedly and noisily call left-wingers Fascists. Laughable! Fascism by its very definition is very much a right-wing philosophy. At its most basic definition, it is the merging of the state and large corporate power. Unions are crushed and all workers find their working conditions under attack. The media becomes an echo chamber of hatred against minorities, intellectuals, the poor and anyone else who is not wealthy and white.
One of the most familiar clichéd babblings from the lunar right is “You oppose freedom of speech”. Freedom of speech is fine, but scapegoating and stereotyping minorities is not free speech, it is bigotry and has NO PLACE in a civilized society. When the fourth estate, largely controlled by corporations begins to spread hate and unhelpful stereotypes, bad things happen. There are many unstable and easily influenced people in our society. History has illustrated that when media propagates hate and division, evil ensues, and in extreme circumstances, millions can perish. This is precisely why there are racial vilification laws in place. They are designed to protect the marginalized from unfair and hateful attacks.
Another very noticeable trait from the right, particularly on Facebook, is to report people. When they are soundly beaten in a debate, they either resort to foul abuse or very often will report their protagonist to Facebook for the most absurd reasons. The author of this article was recently reported to Facebook for calling one such person a “simpleton”. The result was a 30 day ban from Facebook. I kid you not! It is fair to say which side of the political spectrum Facebook is sympathetic to!

t seem to breach Facebook
s “community standards”.
Not only do the right own and control all mainstream media, but it appears they also run Facebook too!
Another familiar catch cry from the lemmings is “ABC is communist” or “ABC is a far left organization”. Excuse me while I laugh. If the ABC appears far left to you, you may just happen to be lunar right-wing. The ONLY television station with a charter that ensures it MUST remain neutral is apparently “Communist”. Time and time again, independent audits have confirmed that the ABC is indeed centrist. Contrast this to the commercial stations that have no such charter. They are flagrantly and blatantly biased. Particularly channel 9 and 10. We won`t even mention Sky News! Even more biased are the horrific publications such as The Herald Sun and The Australian. No nuance or intelligent analysis is to be found within these rags. They push the narrative of bash unions, bash refugees, bash Muslims and repeat ad nausea.
Not happy with their monopoly of spin, the right must also try to gag the ABC, as it is too honest and apparently a threat to the commercial propaganda machine. We see recently the appointment of Murdoch stooge, Michelle Guthrie as CEO, and the dozens of far right ideologues infiltrating the ABC such as Janet Albrechtsen, of the militant far right organization, the Institute of Public Affairs.
Ultimately it appears that the right will scream bias and howl with derision when civil minded folks take them to account for their racial and religious hate. They call us “totalitarian” and “Stalinist”. Yet it is not the left that want to destroy the only balanced non-partisan media in Australia. The hypocrisy runs deep within the right. The irony is astounding.

We (each of us) are a product of our awareness of our environment.
The key seems to me to be:
(a) our awareness of the overall environment (widest sense) and
(b) the environment we individually chose to practice within the overall environment
Because sadly, Clean Livin , the Mr & Mrs Dumb of Middle Australia believe their rubbish, are unable to think for themselves and THIS has a huge impact on our society.
Used to wonder how Nazi Germany came into being- all too easy to see how the proletariat can, and are swayed. The thing that makes me laugh is that these people who support the MSM are the very people they hate.
Not so. Perhaps the newspapers are, but tv still holds power simply by giving people air time. Consider whether Hanson or Lambie would have been (re)elected without the disproportionate air time they got for their wooly opinions and ill thought through biases and bigotry? The media essentially normalise these opinions by allowing them to be repeated.

If MSM journalists think that they have got reserved places in the elite’s doomsday bunkers and yes, they do exist, aka survival shelters then, they have got rocks in their heads. The corporate controlled MSM journalists must realize that they are being used, find some courage, rebel and hold those that are destroying our world to account. For them not to puts them in the same criminal class as the greedy psychopathic ruling elites that are literally killing us.
That the public is being ‘got at’ is very clear. The ABC has lost Fact Checker, The Drum on line and transcripts of interviews. The right-wing media continues to accuse the ABC of bias and of being communist, despite the findings of inquiries which have not found bias.
Meanwhile, the desperate Murdoch press is complaining more and more about social media. Social media is not ‘professional’. It appeals to the uneducated young with left leanings. It does not address ‘real’ issues. Somehow, the irony of such claims is beyond the understanding of neo-con intelligence.
The example below of people being reported on Facebook is one example of censorship. Another is the persistent claim that the privatisation of Medicare is a lie, a denial maintained by refusing to mention the clear evidence in the actions of the neo-cons and in the wishlist of the IPA that privatisation of medicare is a long term goal.
The tactic of denigrating opposition by continually publishing vitriolic and demeaning articles – passing the task from one scribbler to another over extended time – is a well practised tactic, often using weasel wods such a ‘politically correct’ or more recently, ‘identity politics’.
Another is to breed distractions, so that any suggestion of division in the Coalition is smothered by claims of division over there, over there in the Greens or Labor or somewhere!
Yet another is to refuse to publish anything which challenges the aspirations of their readers, such as climate change of the IPCC kind. What they do is to publish the denier/sceptical view. The claim is that it does not tell its readers what to think, but what to think about. This, even if what they publish is a lot of tosh not worth thinking about. It is a way of creating white noise and static to befuddle the issue.

Witness who knew Martin, all say it wasnt him. Witnesses who didnt know him, describe someone else, obviously other than Bryant.
This is people who were there, who’s testimony was never allowed to be heard in court, though there was never a trial anyway, nor an inquest, which is usually held after something like this, by law.
also.. the police reports themselves prove Bryants innocence because they have him in two places at once.. now thats clever!

A short and totally-on-the-money-article. The extremists of the Right constantly berate the ABC for its lefty stance when it’s so balanced it favours the right on average, just to maintain the cringe. My bro used to call this “the pre-emptive buckle”. As you correctly (but not Rightly write), only a Fascist would see the ABC as Left. The Centre is not some mythical point between the ALP and the Coalition, as they’re both respectively Right and Far Right. The Liberal Party could set off for Brisbane from Sydney and would always end up in Hawaii.
