Downer, The Spy Who Gave In What He Was Told…
So, let me see if I have this straight:
Alex Downer and Trump adviser, George Papadopoulos, meet in a London bar where, according to George, he doesn’t tell Alex that the Russians have damaging material on Hillary Clinton. Then Downer passes on the information that he didn’t receive to George. This led to the Mueller investigation, because there was an announcement by the FBI that they were still investigating Hillary’s emails in the days preceding the 2016 election. This action was evidence that the FBI were part of a global conspiracy to prevent the election of Donald Trump, even though the release of the material actually harmed Clinton…
Now before some of you start jumping up and down and telling me what terrible human beings the Clintons are, I want to make it clear that I have no wish to defend any American presidential candidate, I’m just trying to establish the facts here. Yes, you can tell me how “House Of Cards” is based on the Clintons and not some BBC show from twenty years ago and how they ran a pizza parlour which they disguised as a pedophile ring. Whatever! The Clintons are not the issue here. We have another global conspiracy to stop the election of Donald Trump for reasons I’ve yet to quite understand.
Anyway, according to the current narrative being pushed by Papadopoulos and the other Trumpsters, Alex wasn’t told about the damaging information that the Russians had on Hillary but Downer reported this non-existent information. The investigation into the investigation would like to delve more deeply into this because according to George – the man who pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI – Downer recorded their conversation. If there’s one thing worse than a diplomat passing on information they were given after a couple of drinks, then it’s one who records and passes on information that they weren’t given. The Australian government is only too happy to help… We’re not releasing the transcripts of anything written but we’re happy to release Alexander.
Yes, it’s all a bit John Le Carre rather than James Bond. Whatever, Scottie says that there’s nothing wrong with helping an ally with an investigation. Pity, the Ukraine isn’t an ally, I guess.
Then again, Scottie is very helpful these days. When it was discovered that one of the councils being given drought relief was actually experiencing a bumper season, our PM told us that he made no apology for being generous… which would be fine, were it not for the fact that the councils to which he was so generous didn’t seem to be in any Labor electorates. I’m mildly surprised that the metropolitan electorate of Chisholm wasn’t given drought relief, not because it’s a marginal electorate, but because city people have to pay higher food prices thanks to the drought…
And then there’s the NDIS which is so generous that it had more money than people needed. How else do you explain the $4.5 billion in unspent funds this financial year? Incompetence in its administration? Ridiculous. The Coalition is in charge! An obsession with returning the Budget to surplus no matter who suffers? You cynic! As if the government would do such a thing.
Of course, generosity has its limits and you certainly can’t go increasing money to those on NewStart. No, as Minister for Family and Social Services told us, that would just lead to more money going to drug dealers and pubs.
I don’t know what she’s got against pubs. Or drug dealers, for that matter. I mean, the economy needs a boost from somewhere and it’s certainly not going to get one from increases in the NDIS or the dole. If it has to come from some hotel owner or ice dealer buying a new car or adding to his bling, then it’s better than slipping into recession. Besides, can’t the Liberals remember that when Labor suggested putting a limit on pokie machine losses, they banded together with the clubs and pubs and told us how this would lead to massive job losses. Yet now, we can’t have an increase in unemployment benefits because it would help the pubs.
It seems just a few days ago that the Liberals were telling us how good they’ve been at creating jobs. I suppose if you use the word “creating” in the sense of a making up a thing that’s not really there, then one would have to agree.

Tend to agree with Phil Pryor but Labor is no different: along with the upper echelons of the APS, universities and armed forces, there is corruption and perversion of all types and shades. No solution now.
So far our own Smiley Downer has avoided questioning on his involvement in the Timor Leste parliamentary spying affair which he evidently knew nothing about but was right in the thick of and now we see him in trench-coat and probably with a false moustache getting around the wine clubs of Soho and not receiving information on the Clintons which he duly passes on to the CIA – probably using his Dick Tracey invisible ink kit .
Surely this bloke will eventually have to face an enquiry and a court of law ?
If our MSM newsrooms weren’t so infested with democrat supporters you/we might actually get some real news and analysis but they aren’t so we won’t. Instead we get constant Washington centric rubbish with a particular sensational bias of no lasting value. One self serving liar after another to muddy the waters. The ABC excel with this nonsense. Its time the newsrooms were imploded and the miscreants sent out into the real world to learn the difference between fact and fiction.

It is a skill to create an illusion and then lying to defend it. Scummo, trumball and the rabbott lack such skill but the rupert controlled media has the ear, eye and ‘mind’ of the public and lying is their bread and butter. Their piece de resistance is making the truth sound like lies.
I have avoided the msm for some time and have been blocked on social media but I have friends who tell me that sky news has taken over from the ABC as the purveyor of fair and balanced opinions.

Alexander Downers attempts at being Australia’s James bond have now ended in two disasters first the Timor Leste affair and now the Russian Trump fiasco. Quiet a achievement when considering the amount of money the tax payer has paid him whilst he bungle his way through foreign affairs. Methinks his forays into spying equates more to Maxwel Smart than Bond but then again with that effeminate English ascent maybe he is more of a Austin powers .

Jack you do realise that as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Downer would have had a long and close association with spy agencies and probably would have been more than happy to work with his foreign counterparts to undermine interlopers like Trump.
And of course, Downer knew nothing about the wheat for oil dealings with Saddam. Very ignorant man for one who has held such high postings

I mean, if you’re using the argument that one of your foreign policy advisers was tricked by Alexander, then you need to have a long think about your choice of adviser. As a defence, it hardly inspires confidence in your capacity for insightful judgement!

Mifsud allegedly told Papadopoulos in April 2016 that Moscow had “thousands of emails” damaging to Clinton. I probably even wrote about it on my facebook page before Papadopoulos knew. BTW The Mueller investigation was a sham.
Perhaps whats more revealing is that some of our conservative politicians have more in common with present day American Democrats than with the Republicans and many of our self identifying progressive Labor supporters here still think the Democrats have anything to offer.
Don’t underestimate Downer. As a politician he is a professional liar and he was/is very good at it.

Our MSM and political commentators ran great cover for Downer knowingly or not here in Australia , especially creating the clever narrative of Downer hardly being a super spy .. or James Bond .. What no one bothered to ask of Downer was how was it he was at the bar and why . And also why Downer was on the board of advisors to a secretive foreign intelligence firm named Hakluyt who are based in London and are run by ex MI6 and GCHQ members .. from 2008 – 2014 stepping down only because he received a roll in the UN as Australia’s head Diplomat to the UK . But served on the board of Hakluyt while posted there by Australia during that time.
Downer is into this whole debacle up to his ears .. Australia had to come clean to the FBI with what they knew because Wikileaks revealed the DNC leaked Hillary emails from Clinton’s servers and the yanks already knew that we were sitting on Downers info . But months before hand Downer had already told Joe Hockey who had dutifully informed US intelligence , who were and remain to back the Clinton Foundation and DNC .
There is no more Democrats are left and Republicans are right wing anymore .. The US and all of its government and governing bodies are owned and run by corporations and private interests .. a deep state of control has gradually been installed by the corporations and they were not impressed when Trump was installed by a very slick well funded campaign of nationalists . Funded by some loony fringe dweller billionaires with an axe to grind with the establishment.. beating the deep state establishment at their own game.
Which enraged the establishment and thus Russiagate was born with the Mueler Probe along with several other investigations that have delivered almost no real evidence of Russian interference , or any real evidence of collusion with Trump and Russia .. yes there’s lots of historical wrongdoing and law breaking from Trump staffers and officials . Mostly to do with money laundering or corruption .
But after nearly 3 years of extensive investigations by several US government bodies with endless legal access and powers have produced very little .. funny that ..
